About Me

My journey as a qualified Clinical Psychologist began in 2014 when I graduated with a Clinical Psychology Doctorate from the University of Surrey. Here, I gained a wealth of experience working with all ages in a variety of settings including community services, inpatient settings, large teaching hospitals helping people with common mental health difficulties including depression, anxiety, stress, burnout, trauma and worry. My doctorate thesis explored the relationship between shame, guilt and obsessive compulsive disorder.

Since qualifying, I have worked in large teaching hospitals and community settings in Surrey helping improve the mental health and wellbeing of people living with physical health conditions including persistent pain, fibromyalgia, respiratory conditions including cystic fibrosis and cancer. Currently I work part time in an NHS community pain clinic running mindfulness classes and pain management groups as well as running my independentpractise alongside this in Farnham.

I have completed specific training in Eye movement desensitisation and reprocessing (EMDR) therapy which is can be used to help manage difficult traumatic memories and events as well as depression and anxiety.

As well as EMDR, I am trained in several different therapies including acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), compassion focused therapy (CFT), mindfulness-based approaches, cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) and EMDR. The beauty of training in these models is I can integrate all the best bits of each model to tailor an intervention specifically for you and we can decide this together.
